Newsletter 2002

This year has not offered any special highlights, it has just been nice and wonderful all the time. We have spent all hours off work taking care of Axel and trying to get heating system in working order. Axel is a source of joy all the time. He is growing and growing, and it is nearly impossible to create a child safe enivironment for him as he is very inventive.

Our house is now heated by the geothermal system that we installed last year. It is not always efficient enough, but it is very economical! We are working hard to optimize everything, which includes insulating the attic. The indoor temperature is slowly rising degree by degree. A side effect of installing geothermal heating is that the lawn has to be remade. We now have a green lawn which actually consists mainly of grass! We still have to replant bushes and a couple of trees, and there is still a garden rocket to build. This year we at least finished project Krille, which added one more inhabitant to our zoological garden. His teeth are very good handles for babies learning to walk.

To further improve the heating we have installed a cast iron casette in the fireplace which allows us to burn wood in a good manner. Unfortunately the chimney-sweep did not approve of the old leaky chimney. He had conservative views lika that the smoke should rise in the chimney and not in the entire house. On Monday we will have som guys coming in to fix it, and after that you are all welcome to sit by our fireplace, roast apples and drink hot chocolate.

Axel is running around creating mischief all day. Both he and Cacke enjoys fixing the house together, using all tools they can find. Sometimes there is a conflicting interest as they both enjoy using the same tools. Axels absolute favorites are tools which damage our newmade kitchen floor maximally. Another of Axel's hobbies are to use his ten shining new teeth to make his mother scream. He enjoys that almost as much as tickeling her until she screams. He has horribly cold hands sometimes.

We have both been able to enjoy the fantastic summer and the wonderful autumn together with Axel has we have both taken 50% parental leave since may. It feels strange to think back on the summer now that we have thick layers of snow and -10 degrees Centigrade outdoors. We still miss you all very much, and we still hope for you all to come visit us as soon as you possible can.
